Underwater Wrap-Up
Sorry for the delay, but thank you SO much to everyone who came out to our Underwater Is Where The Action Is art and music event! It got off to a rocky start, but ended up going over time to make up for the lack of music in the first 45min! Thank you to everyone who stuck around. Both venues were packed, which means once again we will probably need a bigger space next time! Bacaro LA actually mentioned wanting to hire another person for the next time around, I don’t think they really expected that big of a turn out! The art truly set the bar for our next round of submissions; all the pieces were exceptional. Alex, Aijia, Drew, Chris, Shannon, and
iSHOWMYSELF really made the night extra awesome, and I’m sure Alex Alkana would have been great too! (Unfortunately he had to drop out at the last minute and will definitely be back to entertain us!). Palaver was back, selling their literary magazine, Chalk Revolution took to the sidewalks, and Ben Jay was out back spray painting his gigantic masterpiece. For those who couldn’t stay til the end– his work turned out to be really cool! A special thanks to Jeff LaPenna who caught everybody’s attention with his amazing bubble video shown at Bacaro. It was really great seeing how many
people supported these artists and musicians, as well as the Ragazzi Room and Bacaro LA. Another part to this event is helping to acknowledge how great these venues are, even with out an art show going on. The people who run both restaurants are so generous and literally let us do anything. They made these past two shows possible for us! Thanks again to all the artists who participated, anyone and everyone who helped set up/tear down, Marie Jaen & Ben Koffman for designing the awesome flyers, the boredLA crew, and anyone else I forgot! Also, if anyone is interested in purchasing art, please contact us!
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did, and will continue to support us by showing up to our next collaborative event, the KSCR (1560 AM) Fest, Saturday March 29th from 4-11pm. There will be seven bands, plenty of art, kettle corn, a vegan hot dog stand, and a taco truck, and of course this event is completely free!
Stay tuned for even more fun from boredLA! Thanks again!
