Mexico vs. France
So apparently Cinco de Mayo is more than sombreros and margaritas. To get as close to Mexico as you can during this Swine Flu outbreak, head to the famous El Pueblo de Los Angeles on Olvera Street to celebrate the defeat of France by a tiny army of bad ass Mexicans. This is a three-day celebration, that actually doesn’t fall on May 5th. Weekends happen to be better days for festivals, if you didn’t already know. Anyway, there will be traditional singing and dancing, tasty food, piƱata making, and more. You can hop on the red line and ride into Union Station for the event so you can beat the crowds and won’t have to worry about parking.
