Join the Revolution

Lorna Alkana, a student at USC currently studying abroad in Spain (oh, how we miss her), started a revolution last year. It began as a small movement, at an apartment complex off campus, with three, sometimes five people. Then it spread. It spread to the center of campus, dozens of people participating, causing quite a stir. But now it is up to the rest of us to make this revolution truly a revolution. Lorna has already taken it to the streets and sidewalks of Madrid. For those of you already in the know, yes I’m talking the Chalk Revolution. For a dollar at the dollar store, you can buy yourself a big plastic tub filled with chalk of all colors. From there, you go to a public space, spreading art, freedom of speech, and love to all. It’s basically legal graffiti. Try not to chalk right before a rain storm though, or in the path of a sprinkler, not so smart. Bottom line, you want your art, whether simple or elaborate, to inspire. Express yourself! Plus, it’s another thing to do when you’ve got nothing better to do, and still be productive. See you on the streets.
