Bored & Hungry: Bacaro L.A.

bored-and-hungry-0061If you’re bored, hungry, or in need of a drink and in the USC/downtown area, head on over to small and charming Bacaro L.A., a wine and tapas bar. Owned by two USC alum, this neighborhood gem is right next to local hang-out (and site of our upcoming art show!) the Ragazzi Room at 2308 S Union Ave. The neighborhood is not exactly where you would expect to have a quiet, classy evening with friends, but that’s what makes it so great, and a convenient place to do so. Inside the intimate space are communal-like tables and leather benches, a chalk board with the wine list and tapas menu, and local artwork lining the walls. The owners will come by and make sure you’re satisfied and stay and chat if you take them up on it. Come for just a glass of sparkling white and the olive/almond appetizer, or stay for a few glasses and a cheddar panini. They also have sliders, artichoke hearts & parm, and cheese and fruit plates. This is a great date spot, place to catch up with an old friend, host a small dinner party, or just to stop by if you’re B-O-R-E-D.
