Bored and Thirsty: 4100 Bar
4100 Bar lives snug on Sunset in Silverlake, right off of Santa Monica Blvd. It feels like
nighttime indoors. The narrow seating lines one wall around the space. The bar, with stools and an outrageously good-looking bar tender, takes up the other wall. The seating opens up toward the back. Everything is low, along with the lighting and jukebox tunes. Candles sit on tables that double as ottomans. The booths are luxiourous and accomadating — you could squeeze in a larger crowd if you have to. Tapestries hang from the ceiling and walls, somehow adding to the sophistication of the place. There is a sometimes-used seperate bar in the back for bigger nights. The 4100 Bar has private parking – 15 spaces at most – but if you make a sharp right when you pass the bar on Manzanita you can find some street parking without too much trouble. There is no happy hour. Most drinks are under $10 and delicious. Overall, 4100 Bar is a nice place to have some drinks and conversations with friends. It’s pretty tame, but alcohol always adds an element of unpredictability. Plus, the crowd is friendly (and attractive), so you can easily make some new friends. 8pm-2am 7 days a week.
