100 Artists in 100 Square Feet
This Friday, there will be a party going on at Sugar Hair Salon in Silverlake. Seems like a strange venue for an awesome art opening, but strange can often be good and this time I think it’s gonna be great. Starting at 7 PM, Sugar will present its latest art show, 100, and I’m pretty sure there will be something for everyone considering there will be ONE HUNDRED different L.A. artists showcasing their talent. That’s right, one hundred pieces of artwork by one hundred different people all stuffed into one hundred square feet of wall space. Even better, all of the pieces are priced under a hundred dollars, which means that you can totally afford some cool original art even though we’re in a recession. And for those of you who are indecisive, you can bring the whole show home with you because Sugar is making a book to benefit Mexicali Rose, a non profit that brings free access to art/media to kids in Baja California.
If you can make it to the opening, DJs will be spinning and there will be live music, but, if you already have plans for Friday night, you can go see the show anytime between now and May 4th.
